Direct Sales Representative

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic individuals to join Armstrong Systems' growing sales force!

Armstrong Systems is a developer and distributor of award winning components and programming tools for Clipper, Delphi, Visual Basic,  ASP, Perl developers. Your job will be that of finding and developing new target accounts, contacting and selling Armstrong Systems software to already existing account lists, following up on company provided leads, and using our existing customer database to increase company's sales.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be an action prone, high-energy individual that possesses the proven ability to implement strategic plans and “make things happen”.
• Candidate must be comfortable with change, and be a consistent goal achiever.
• Candidate should be a risk-taker who has a high level of ambition and possess great business judgment and instincts.
• Ability to “see the big picture”.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, intense, yet casual environment is a must
• Knowledge of the internet software industry desirable
• Proven track record in meeting and exceeding sales goals
• Team player who knows how to operate in a small team environment
• Exceptional Communication Skills

Software Developer

At Armstrong Systems, you will play a key role in creating innovative, leading-edge software components — products that win technical excellence awards. If you're the developer everyone at your job goes to when they hit the wall in ASP or need to figure out how to fix a multi-threading problem, then you'll thrive here. You follow through on your ideas for innovative products with design specifications and project schedules in addition to developing a significant portion of the project. Your background includes expertise in Windows, Delphi, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Perl, MySQL, Advantage Database, and/or ASP. You have attained a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the United States, and 2-3 years software design experience. Database, Java and/or ASP experience is an asset.

Quality Assurance Specialist

As Quality Assurance Specialist, you’ll develop and implement software-testing regimes for Armstrong Systems' line of award-winning products. Your proven ability to troubleshoot software problems and working knowledge of Visual Basic, Windows and Access make you a key component of our Product Support team, ensuring our products maintain a superior level of quality. You possess impeccable organizational skills, are detail-oriented, and have superior communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with automated software testing suites is an asset.

Required Skills, Experience and/or Personal Attributes:

• 1 year programming experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal , in both American English and Putonghua
• Working knowledge of Windows, Visual Basic and Access programming
• Proven ability to troubleshoot software problems
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as working independently and drive issues to closure

Desired skills:

• Experience in software testing and demo setup
• Ability to understand and relate clearly to others the problems posed by customers
• Clear understanding of Delphi, Visual Basic and the use of custom controls in programming environments
• Knowledge of Armstrong Systems custom control libraries
• Superior attention to detail and impeccable organizational skills
• Able to produce PowerPoint file in short notice

The Quality Assurance Specialist's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement software-testing regimes for the Armstrong Systems product line
• Perform QA testing on new products and upgrades before release
• Reproduce software bugs in sample projects
• Write small programs that demonstrate the use of our controls
• Work closely with the Tech Support team to document and answer technical questions
• Identify and escalate technical issues
• Report to the Project Manager clearly, logically, succinctly and completely the nature of a problem, both verbally and in writing

Technical Support Representative

Customers ask for you by first name because you know how to "WOW" them! You love the action and excitement of successfully resolving technical issues over the phone or via email, researching issues and following up with customers. You seek challenges and enjoy tackling even the most difficult problems and are looking for a position that will allow you to stay abreast of the latest developments and continue to advance your development skills.

Desired skills:
You must be an excellent communicator, have a super phone personality and have some Delphi, Visual Basic experience. Visual C++, Windows NT and/or database experience are an asset. A college diploma or university level education is preferred but not necessary.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide technical support to end users of the Armstrong Systems product line
• Work closely with the QA team to document and answer technical questions
• Ability to reproduce reported software bugs in sample projects
• Must be able to identify and escalate technical issues
• Ability to work as a part of a team as well as working independently and drive issues to closure
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation and FAQ lists
• Must have excellent communications and telephone skills
• Proven ability to troubleshoot software problems
• Must have superior attention to detail and impeccable organizational skills
• Working knowledge of Windows, Visual Basic and Access programming
• Must have excellent writing skills in American English plus the ability to express clearly, logically, succinctly and completely the nature of a problem and its proposed solution
• Experience in software testing an asset
